Vacation time is approaching and the dinosaurs are planning to have some fun, but where will they go?
These friendly dinosaurs are dreaming of where they can go to get away. And when their dino friends arrive, they begin thinking about all the fun things they want to try. But with the whole world at their feet, where will they go and what will they do?
Will they romp, frolic, or stomp their feet; or maybe they will travel to a faraway place? Everyone knows dinosaurs can be hard to spot, but maybe if we are really lucky, we can see one at play!
Back in July I posted a review of Where Do Unicorns Go On Vacation by the same author. I really loved that book. So, when Where Do Dinosaurs Go on Vacation was available free on Amazon I snatched it up. Here are my pros and cons for Where Do Dinosaurs Go on Vacation:
- This book is targeted at children ages 3 to 8 according to Amazon. I think it is perfect for that age group, but I think the younger children will particularly like it.
- Like the Unicorn version of this book, it is written in verse and the rhymes flow very well. There were a few times I felt the cadence go off track a bit, but kids likely won’t notice at all.
- The illustrations by Nejla Shojaie are fantastic. The illustrations add so much whimsy and enjoyment to the story.
- I personally didn’t think the options for the dinosaur vacations were as interesting or exciting as the options presented in the unicorn version of the book; however, I think the places discussed in the dinosaur book will be more relatable to very young readers.
I have to admit I liked the Unicorn book a bit more than this one, but they are still very similar and perfect for children. This book is great and the “Go on Vacation” series is delightful. If you have a child that loves dinosaurs this would be an awesome book for them, and as you read it together maybe your child could help come up with other fun places dinosaurs could go!
There are four total books in the series (at this time) including Unicorns, Dinosaurs, Santa, and Elves.
